Stay Hydrated, Stay Healthy.

Slices of lemon in a jar full of water

Summer is here and that means it’s time to drink up (water, that is). At PRC, we’re keeping hydration top of mind for both our residents and caregivers.

Why it matters

Water keeps our bodies running smoothly. It helps with everything from energy and focus to digestion and joint health. For seniors, especially, dehydration can sneak up quickly and lead to things like dizziness, fatigue, or confusion. That’s why we’re encouraging small sips throughout the day, even before you feel thirsty.

Simple tips to stay cool and hydrated

  • Add a slice of lemon of cucumber to your water

  • Snack on watermelon or orange slices

  • Keep a water bottle nearby

  • Dress light and take shaded breaks

  • Cut back on caffeine or soda, water is the real MVP

Feeling moody or tired? A cool glass of water and a quick check-in with a friend can do wonders for your body and mind.

Let’s beat the heat together!

A note from PRC:

We know that caring for others can be both uplifting and exhausting. Through our work, we’ve learned that every act of care counts. We hope these tips help you find strength, balance, and even a bit of peace in your caregiving journey.
