PRC September Newsletter

Note from our COO

Dear PRC Community,

As September brings the beginning of fall here in Maine, I hope you and your families are doing well and enjoying the changing season.

One of the things I continue to appreciate about Peace Residential Care is the community that surrounds the people we serve. Every day, our staff, families, guardians, partners, and friends contribute in different ways to creating an environment where individuals feel supported, respected, and at home.

As we move into a new season, I want to especially thank our staff for the care and commitment they bring to their work. The everyday moments; showing patience, listening, encouraging someone, preparing a meal, helping with an appointment, or simply being present, are what make quality care possible.

Fall is also a good time to return to healthy routines and prepare for the months ahead. I encourage everyone in our PRC community to take care of yourselves, stay connected with one another, and enjoy some of the beauty that comes with this season in Maine.

Thank you for continuing to be part of the Peace Residential Care community.

✍️Wellness Corner: Resetting Your Routine for a Healthy Fall

September brings cooler mornings, shorter days, and a natural change in our daily rhythms. It can also be a great opportunity to check in on the simple habits that support our physical and emotional wellbeing.

This month’s Wellness Corner looks at practical ways to prepare for a healthy fall—from getting back into a consistent sleep routine and staying active to drinking enough water, enjoying seasonal foods, and paying attention to emotional wellbeing.

Small, consistent choices can make a meaningful difference.

🍂 Welcoming Fall in Maine

There is something special about the arrival of fall in Maine. Cooler temperatures and changing leaves create opportunities to get outside before winter arrives.

Whether it is taking a neighborhood walk, visiting a local park, enjoying an apple orchard, or simply sitting outside on a comfortable afternoon, spending time outdoors can be a simple way to enjoy the season.

As temperatures begin to fluctuate, remember to dress appropriately for the weather and plan outdoor activities according to each person's individual needs and abilities.

Everyday Moments Matter

At Peace Residential Care, we believe meaningful care is often found in everyday moments.

Sharing a meal. Going for a drive. Celebrating an accomplishment. Learning something new. Laughing together. Helping someone become more independent.

These moments may seem small, but together they help create a sense of belonging, dignity, and community for the individuals we support.

We are grateful to our team members who make those moments possible every day.

Stay Connected With PRC

Thank you to our residents, families, guardians, staff, partners, and friends for being part of the Peace Residential Care community.

As we enter the fall season, we look forward to continuing to share stories, resources, staff highlights, and moments from across PRC.
